● The Static Electricity and Use of Anti-Static Agent
▶ The electrical phenomenon when the distribution of electric charge is not changed by hours.
The electrification by friction, electric field by the conductor of direct current voltage and electric field by suspended electric charge are all related with the static electricity. For example, when you touch a metal like a door handle in a dried winter weather, your hand-end can be benumbed as the static electricity, which is electrified on the metal, is discharged to the fingers, And, as the synthetic fibers is of little hygroscopicity, the static electricity by friction is easy to be electrified. That's why the underclothes made by synthetic fibers is stick to the body. As the same reason, hairs is stick to the plastic comb, which is electrified from the static electricity by friction, The Anti-static agent has been developed to reduce the damage of this static electricity. Discharged static electricity, which has been generated by combustible materials-remained by the explosion of coal mines gas or explosive gases, can be a cause of some big diseasters. The electrostatic induction of conductors is occurred during about 1/100mil.sec. So, the theory of this static electricity shall be tenable to the slowly-moving time change. The basic law of the static electricity is the Coulomb's Law regaring the electric force, which is effected between electric charge and electric charge.

As the plastic with low hygroscopicity has high electrical insulating properties and it is easy to generate the static electricity by friction, once it is electrified, the static electricity is hardly removed.
The static electricity, which is generated of the factory in a dried winter season and in the process of materials mixing, can make the input of the colorant be non-uniform, so it is the main reason of the inferiority ratio in the processing.
In order to minimize the inferiority ratio in processing, shortening the mixing time of materials in case of long mixing time, the generation of friction electricity is much excessive) and reducing to the minimum of the materials in vessel(the gravity difference of Master Batch or the matter of Slip) to the production speed shall be the good merhods.
