ABS - Acryl-Butadiene-Styrene-Copolymer
- Universal-purpose Plastic that combines shock resistance and hardness
● Overview
- As one of the non-crystalline thermoplastic styrene resins, ABS has an excellent balance of impact resistance, hardness, flow, etc., and its dimensional stability and molding machinability is remarkably advantageous.
- The three components of acryl, butadiene, and styrene are chemically integrated, and their individual properties are well balanced.
"Acryl" increase → hardness, tensile strength, elastic modulus, impact resistance, solvent resistance, and heat resistance increase, but high-frequency dielectric property decreases.
"Butadiene" increase → as a rubber component, reduces tensile strength, elastic modulus, and hardness, increases impact resistance, abrasion resistance, and expansibility, and its nature becomes vulnerable.
"Styrene" increase → increases moldability, electrical properties, and melting fluidity, and its nature becomes hard and tender.
- ABS resin sold in the market is composed of 25% ~ 30% of acryl, 25% ~ 30% of butadiene, and the restaurant of styrene.
