Liquid Silicone Rubber(LSR)

- LSR is used to produce finished rubber goods with heat molding by mixing constant ratio compounds of two-component (A and B) liquid silicone and supplying them through injection molding machine. It typically vulcanizes within a few seconds at mold temperatures ranging from 140-230°C. Short vulcanization times and ease of de-molding enables mass production. As most LSR is easily injected into complex structured molds, it is used in products that.

• Properties (compared to HCR)
- Fast cure cycles can offer excellent productivity
- Due to high flow, available to mold detailed and diverse designed products
- Few or no flash
- No need of secondary vulcanizing

• Curing Process

▶ Process
Desired amounts of the two ready-touse components (part A and part B) are transferred from the original containers to a static mixer. Color paste can be fed into the system as an additional component.
From the static mixer, the mixture passes into the injection-molding machine, and is then injected into the heated mold. The mixture vulcanizes to form a cured silico -ne rubber, typically within a few seconds at temperatures of 140-230°C

▶ Post Cure
Post-cure of the material may provide an improvement in the mechanical properties of the finished part (such as compression set). The content of volatile co -mponents may also be reduced.
