OLED Intermediate
● Concept and Characteristics of OLED
▶ Concept : Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) is a next-generation display element that can materialize a thin film panel with a thinner film than that of the conventional TFT-LCD as it does not need a light source as an organic material that emits light by itself following the electric signals.
▶ Characteristics
- Self-irradiation : An excellent visibility following the self-irradiation of elements
- Wide viewing angle : A wider display viewing angle than that of TFT-LCD
- Fast response : A response that is a thousand times faster than that of TFT-LCD
- Ultra thin display and low power consumption : Materialization of an ultra-thin display whose thickness is about one-third of that of TFT-LCD and a low power consumption which is about half of that of TFT-LCD as it does not need a back light unit (BLU)
