Process Characteristics
Our MBBR(Moving bed biofilm reactor) is optimized for treating high nitrogen influent in the domestic and industrial wastewater treatment plant.
1. It is able to maintain effluent concentrations of less than TN 15mg/L and NH4+-N 5mg/L no matter that the weather condition is.
2. It can remove nitrogen using special media which can attach enough biomass in the reactors even at a limited plant site.
3. The applied special media is able to maximize the efficiency of the process.
Applied Media
· The density of media itself can be controlled as 0.98 g/cm3 by adjusting the composition of ingredients. After the biomass is attached on the media the whole density will be about 1 g/cm3 and can be fludized very well.
· The life span of media is very long, about 30 years, which can be obtained by protecting from radiation of UV using materials contained carbon.
· It can prevent to detach the biomass due to rubbing among media by increasing specific surface area with additional manufacturing method to rise roughness of surface.
· One can increase attachment of biomass and growth rate by enhancing the contact angle between water and media about 33% through adding hydrophilic material.
· One can enhance biological affinity of media, which surface is allowed to have positive charge, to the biomass which surface has negative charge.
Operation Status
MBBRs are under stable operation at about 50 wastewater treatment plants in China.
