BCN(Biological Cryo-Nitrification) process attempts to remove organic with its maximum capacity in the first aeration reactor. Then in the following media reactor it can obtain maximum nitrogen removal efficiency by maintaining very high nitrifying microorganisms.
1. It is an innovate process to solve the low nitrification problem during winter season by retrofitting the reactors in the existing wastewater treatment plants applying renovation with the least cost and construction.
2. This process employs special structure design for reactors and unique screen system to prevent loesing media.
The mixing in the reactors can be maximized by installing water channels and airlift pumps.
3. The media reactor is partitioned and then the complete mixing can be enhanced as plug-flow mixing. Then the nitrification in the low temperature can be achieved easily and the nitrogen removal performance will be practisced in its maximum capacity.
· BCN process is consisted of anoxic reactor, aerobic reactor, and media reactor. The reactor volume and packing ratio of media can be adjusted depending on th nitrogen loading rate.
· At anoxic reactor the nitrate, which is transported from the media reactor, is removed as nitrogen gas by denitrification. The organic which is leftover after denitrification is completely oxidized in the aerobic reactor.
· The media reactor is partitioned and can maintain nitrification microorganisms in high concentration. Therefore it can carry out nitrification during winter time as its stable condition.
· Depending on the organic concentration in the influent the external carbon source can be supplied as a package from our company.
Operation Status
· The BCN process will be applied with capacity of 6,750 m3/d at the Sooyoung wastewater treatment plant around the end of 2017.
