Technology for waste-resource reuse
· One of the various experiments for alternative external carbon source is the microbial biodegradability analysis on the waste-resource.
· The biodegradability analysis is carried out with our respiration meter which can analyze the portion of biodegradable COD.
· Based on these analysis we can decide if a certain sample can be used as an external carbon source.
COD composition |
RBDCOD | NBDCOC |
mg/L | % | mg/L | % |

· Another experiment is to evaluate the denitrification capacity when we try to use the waste-resource as a substrate for the microorganisms.
· This experiment is carried out as a batch mode. The denitrification capacity of alternative external carbon source is compared with those of commercial external carbon sources such as methanol, ethanol, and acetic acid.
